New Benefits Explanation

Contract negotiations are over. Due to the economic conditions and the federal government withholding funds from the state of Minnesota, AFSCME Technical and AFSCME Clerical have negotiated many new benefits instead of a larger pay increase with The City of St. Paul. Our 2026 contract includes many benefits that didn't won't be available till 2027.  Below is a list and an explanation of each one. 

• Deferred comp of up to $400 per year
• $1 upfront raise in 2026 to uplift the lowest earners in our bargaining unit, 3% raise in 2027, 3.5% raise in 2028
• Kavira Healthcare
• One Floating Holiday
• Additional vacation carryover increased to 160 hours
• One day of Bereavement Leave
