Stand with AFSCME Courts Workers for Fair Wage Increases
AFSCME Local 3688, AFSCME Courts workers keep Minnesota’s Judicial Branch running every single day. From supporting court operations to serving the public, nearly 600 Local 3688 members perform essential work that our courts rely on. Now, we need your help.During contract negotiations, we negotiated an opener clause that salary savings in the first year of the agreement and/or additional state appropriations could support base wage increases in the second year of the contract (July 2027).
Since then, the Judicial Branch has submitted supplemental funding requests in 2026 (including funds to cover MN Paid Leave Premiums), but did not include funding for employee wage increases. Even more concerning, Jeff Shorba has denied our request to meet and discuss possible ways to fund additional increases for workers in Year 2.
That is unacceptable.AFSCME members deserve respect at the bargaining table and a serious commitment to addressing wages. Courts workers should not be left behind while continuing to provide critical services across the state. This summer’s bargaining sessions are approaching quickly, and we need to show that workers are paying attention and standing united.
