AFSCME supports the Occupy Wall Street movement that has swept the nation and we stand in solidarity with those protesting Wall Street’s greed. The economy that has wrecked so many lives, obliterated jobs, and left millions of Americans homeless and hopeless is the fault of banks that gamble with our future. Their reckless pursuit of profits at the expense of the American dream must come to an end. It’s time for regular folks – the 99 percent – to take back control and put people before profits. We encourage you to attend the Occupy Minnesota event continuing around the clock on the People’s Plaza (352 S. 5th St.) of the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis.
