Regional Organizing 101

AFSCME Council 5 is excited to begin hosting Regional Organizing 101 Trainings across the state, as part of our ongoing work to rebuild our Union and double down on the great progress we’ve made with AFSCME Strong.

The first round of trainings will take place Thursday, Aug. 23 - Saturday, Aug. 25 in the following locations:

  • Duluth: AFSCME Council 5 Office, 211 W, 2nd Street
  • Metro: AFSCME Council 5 Office, 300 Hardman Avenue S., South St. Paul
  • St. Cloud: St. Cloud Labor Home, 1903 4th Street N., St. Cloud

The times of the trainings will be:

  • Thursday:12PM-8PM
  • Friday: 12PM-8PM
  • Saturday: 9AM - 2PM

We invite you and members of your local to participate in this opportunity to:

  • Learn to have effective conversations with your coworkers
  • Build stronger relationships with union leaders in your region
  • Have real-life conversations with workers by making house visits
  • Identify organizing opportunities and plan next steps for your region

Council 5 will cover the costs of registration, meals, and incidental expenses associated with the training. Locals may elect to reimburse participant lost time or stipends. Please consult your local leadership.
